This Little Girl Is Too Cool For School... Trumbull, CT

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting a little girl who reminded me of the great virtue of curiosity that seems to influence us so much as children.
Arianna was not only friendly and extremely intelligent, but she was full of this uncontrollable sense of curiosity and adventure. Every second of the time I spent with her she wanted to show me something new, or take my hand and lead me somewhere special. While I will admit it isn't the easiest thing in the world to capture the portrait of a beautiful girl constantly on the move, it was completely rejuvenating experiencing her sheer excitement for life and living in every moment.
There's definitely something phenomenal behind this little girl's eyes. Something inspiring!

Interesting fact: That beautiful pooch right there is my Gypsy. Gypsy is the first dog I ever rescued, and she lived with me for about a year while I was living/working/creating out of my very small 400 square foot apartment. I loved that little apartment, and I loved my little Australian herding puppy, but unfortunately they didn't love each other. In hopes of giving my Gypsy the yard, room to run and play, and life she deserved, I gave her to Arianna and her family who could supply her with everything she really needed to live a fulfilled, healthy, doggy life. Now she has a huge yard to run through and a big single family home to call her own pooch palace.

I didn't think when I went to photograph Arianna and her family that Gypsy would remember me, but she did right away and fell at my feet! I can't explain to you how happy it was to know that Gypsy still remembered me and loved me, and it made me even happier to see how well she was doing. It was the perfect end to a beautiful day and a wonderful photo session!

Here's to reconnecting with long lost loved ones (human or furry friend), a grand curiosity for life, and the joy spending a simple sunny day in your backyard,

xoxo,
Lillie

A Sunny Summer Weekend in Stratford, CT

The weather report assured us that all of this past week and this past weekend would be soaked thanks to an array of scattered thunder storms... but those rain clouds didn't show their face on Saturday. Instead, there was nothing but blue skies and sunshine in Stratford, CT on Lordship Beach for Bree and Brian's intimate wedding!

Here's a little sneak peak featuring Bree's absolutely adorable nephew:

The delightful young gentleman picked flowers for all his family members during the ceremony and even honored me with one. What a sweetheart!

Woo! Fun New Things for Fairfield County CT Wedding and Portrait Photographer, Lillie Fortino Photography!

So exciting. This Saturday marks the start of the summer, and I couldn't be more excited to tell you all that Lillie Fortino Photography is changing along with the seasons. A few days ago I launched the new website (which, lets face it, really needed to be done... it was very circa 2004) and I couldn't be happier with the results. There's already been some new inquiries and tons of positive feedback. I guess that just goes to show you that working late into the night while your boyfriend falls asleep on the couch snoring and then complains that you're not paying enough attention to him is worth it!

www.lilliefortino.com
It's totally worth a looksie.

What else is changing? The goodies! I'm offering a lot of new options for clients when it comes to album options and other fun things you can do with your photographs. I think my favorite would have to be the fact that soon I will be offering "unbound" albums from HH Boogie. What is an unbound album, you say? It's an album without binding! You photos are wrapped in a leather satchel and housed in a beautiful Amish hand made wooden case. The workman ship on these products is a true art form and I really think they go along with all the great aesthetics I try to perpetuate at Lillie Fortino Photography. So. Pretty.

So, evolving we are!

Tonight I'm hosting a dinner party for two of the loveliest fellow Connecticut Wedding Photographers I know and I'm stoked. It should be a lot of fun... and nothing is better than being able to talk creatively and learn and inspire each other! I definitely over did it on the food though... I hope everyone's hungry.

Sneak Peek: They say if it rains on your wedding day it's good luck!

Yesterday was Loreta's DIY (BEAUTIFUL flowers!) Wedding to William in Norwalk and Shelton, CT. If you're on the east coast, you know yesterday was drowned in torrential downpours... but that didn't stop Loreta, William, or their wedding from being a beautiful blast!

Here's a little sneak peak of their "sunny on a rainy day" wedding:

Nope, I don't see any clouds. Do you?

Be sure to check in here and there to see the rest of the wedding!
