Now Affiliated With MINTED.COM!

Design and photographs for example only from minted.com. Design and photograph not affiliated with Lillie Fortino Photography.
Today is a wonderful day. Why? Because Lillie Fortino Photography is now affiliated with minted.com. Just yesterday I finished designing a flyer for my promotional packets about how there are so many creative and out of the ordinary uses for your engagement and wedding photos, and now I can really put what I preach into action! Now not only can I talk about cool ideas for your photos, but I can make them happen. My clients can tell me what their favorite images are and I can help turn them into beautiful invitations, save the date cards, thank you cards, or other impressive and playful stationary through my storefront with minted.com. If you check in with my minted.com storefront at www.lilliefortino.minted.com from time to time, you can keep up with and see my favorite products and designs and get some great inspiration for your invitations and other stationary.

I've got a serious soft spot for design and details, and now I'm looking for excuses to order products from minted.com. George and I are moving into our new house on Monday... so I'm thinking I can milk that for all it's worth and order some change of address announcements or house warming party invites! Oh, this could end up being way too much fun. I may need to find a second hobby.

I will definitely have to add a little somethin' somethin' about this to the promotional packets. Back to the printers I go!

I even have a cool ad on the side bar of my blog now. Go ahead. Look. Right there. If you click it, it will take you to the new storefront ;) Don't I look professional?

How cool! I love it.

New Business Cards and The Never Ending Dress Hunt

On Saturday my new business cards came in the mail featuring the new logo and brand theme!
The cards showed up right before I had a consultation scheduled, and they must've been good luck because at that meeting I booked a wedding for this coming June! From what I know of the client (and her amazing contemporary floral designs), and from what we discussed at the consultation, this wedding sounds like a dream. Small, detail oriented, and organic. I am super excited.

Isn't that head shot of me awesome? My bestie over in Deutschland, Annika Ritter, took it :) Only she could make me look that good.
All that's left to come in the mail are my logo labels. Once I secure those babies I can put together my photo packages, send an awesome little care package to two of my brides from Engagement shoots, and get on the promotion hustle. I have a styled Wedding shoot planned for the beginning of April and have everything ready to go (almost). I've got the couple, amazing floral designs, makeup, location... everything but the dress. I'm determined to have a knock-out for this photo shoot, and with my new presentation packages I plan on finding it!

I'm sending out those positive vibes.

Happy very potential snow day (ugh I thought it was supposed to be Spring)!

So Happy To Make You Happy: My First Two Reviews

So, today, so many lovely things happened! I received my first two reviews from wonderful clients Gayle and Kathleen. When I read then I was blown away! I was so appreciative of them taking the time out of their day to write a review, but overwhelmed by the effort they put forth while writing them, and the amazing things they had to say!

I am SO thrilled to make my clients happy!

"Lillie is really great - she is super responsive and answers emails quickly. She shot our engagement photos and they turned out beautifully-she knows what she is doing behind the camera and it shows. Just as importantly, she knows how to interact with her clients and make them feel comfortable. She is open to ideas, and places importance on what the clients want and what is personal and special to them. We also like her photography style, which is very natural and a bit "artsy" - we really didn't want the "posed" cliche photos and were happy to find someone like Lillie. Would definitely recommend!"
-Kathleen

"Lillie is an AMAZING person and an amazing photographer! Even though we had just met, we felt like we had known her for years. She makes the whole experience fun and tells you exactly what to expect. Lillie is also very attentive to your interests and ideas, making sure to include as many personal elements as possible into your personal story. We began seeing prints from our engagement shoot the next day, and we have loved them all! You MUST book a photo shoot with her - you will not be disappointed!"

-Gayle

Both reviews are now available on the website by clicking on the cool new "reviews" button on the home page!

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, ladies.

On a side, and equally as amazing, note... Lillie Fortino Photography booked their first wedding today! I couldn't have asked for a more lovely and genuine bride! Thank you, Loreta!

New Website and The Great One I Forgot (and a Giveaway)

Last night, well I guess it was technically this morning, at 2:00am I finally launched the new Lillie Fortino Photography website! Being the neurotic pain in the butt that I am, and my need to be in control of everything, I decided I would take on the redesign of the website all by my lonesome. I think I went through 4 or 5 completely different designs before finally settling. It took a little over two weeks and approximately 30 hours, but it's done! Please! Go look! Let my efforts not be in vain!

(there's a nice little button on the home page to link you to the Facebook fan page... you know, just in case you haven't liked it already ;) )

Moving on to other important updates, today I realized that I completely neglected to post one of my favorite shots from the UConn Engagement Session with Gayle and Phillip! I can't believe I left this one out of their blog post! Anyway, here it is! Enjoy!

xoxo Lillie

P.S. I posted a free headshot giveaway on the facebook fan page :) All you have to do is go "like" the fan page and then like the "giveaway" post. Once the Lillie Fortino Photography Facebook page hits 75 likes I will choose one of those who liked the giveaway post at random to receive a free headshot photo session!

The University of Connecticut with Gayle and Phillip

On Sunday I had the pleasure of hanging out all morning with Gayle and Phillip at the University of Connecticut. Gayle and Phillip met at UConn and thought it would be a great backdrop for their engagement shoot, and being a fellow alumni, I could have agreed more! It was a beautiful day (thank god), and despite the snow, the sun kept us warm.

Gayle and Phillip were a great couple and very easy to get along with, which made them a pleasure to photograph. Gayle's eyes are some of the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen, and they just glow in photographs! Play up those baby blues, Gayle.

Phillip proposed in Memphis, so we thought this would be a cute tribute to that!

Another wonderful day, and two new wonderful friends.

A Sneak Peak with Gayle and Phillip

Today I traveled up to my old stomping grounds at the University of Connecticut to do an engagement shoot with Gayle and Phillip. It was a beautiful sunny day, and the trip included ice cream, so I couldn't be happier.

Here's a sneak peak!

Kathleen & Owen: Birdwatching on a Cloudy Day

Kathleen and Owen couldn't think of a better theme for their engagement photo shoot than their favorite hobby; bird watching! Kathleen was adorable and had an explosive smile, while Owen was quite witty, telling all his jokes in his fabulous English accent. He kept me laughing all morning! It was a little chilly and a little grey, but nothing could keep these two down as we gallivanted around the Fairfield Connecticut Audubon Center. They spotted a new bird that they had never seen before, and they loved the place so much, they were even contemplating using it for their wedding venue!

It took me forever to make that little flag garland.
How appropriate for a lovebird's birdwatching shoot; a human sized birds nest!
